Max is THREE... months old!

Can't imagine what Max would look like at three, but this is what he looks like at three months! Mommy thought that breastfeeding was going to get easier at three months but it really hasn't changed that much. Maxi still takes his own sweet time to eat and it is still quite painful for mommy.

Yesterday Max went to see the dr for the 3 months check up and his immunization shot. Everything is going well and dr said Max has a healthy weight gain. When Max got the immunization shot in the butt, mommy didn't want to look. Surprisingly though, he didn't cry that much and mommy was very proud of him.

After the dr appointment, Max joined mommy and Aunt Natalie for lunch. During lunch, Max was busy eating as well. An old couple who sat next to us were very friendly and started talking to us. They were winking and smiling at Max and asked if they can hold him. Mommy was relieved to catch a break and can finally eat her pizza! We wish we can sit next to diners who enjoying holding Max while we eat all the time!

Max at the Hotel

Max liked staying at the hotel, just like mommy, especially a nice hotel! The crib that the hotel prepared for us was less than perfect. The mattress could not be raised to a higher level so whenever mommy or daddy put Max down, they would get a sore back. Nevertheless, Max still slept very well in it. And the hotel's blanket and pillow are so soft. Sometimes, mommy and daddy would put Max on top of it while we pack. Max seemed to be enjoying himself and watching mommy and daddy run around in circles. It was definitely a good trip and Max wants to visit again soon!

Max On The Plane

Max pretty much slept all the way from home to the airport. Finally woke up around the time when we're going through immigration. He fussed a little bit before falling asleep and woke up just when we were about to take off, which was good because mommy wanted to nurse him during take off and landing to take off the pressure on the ears. Max fell asleep and when mommy put him in the bassinet, he woke up immediately. He prefers the warm arms of mommy, and which babies wouldn't?

We're Back!

Max is back in Singapore from his big trip! Photos will follow soon but Max was a good boy on his first time overseas! At first, mommy was really worried about riding on the plane with Max. So the strategy was whenever Max starts crying, mommy would breastfeed him to put an end to the crying. That was feasible on a short flight to HK but imagine if its a 14 hour long haul flight, that wouldn't be possible at all. We were just worried that the crying would disturb the other passenger.

Hong Kong was so much fun! We met up with so many friends and introduced Max to everyone. Everyone said Max looks like a mixture of mommy and daddy. We're not sure if it's the cold weather in HK that made Max sleep better, but on Friday night, he was put to sleep around 10:30pm, and managed to sleep until 5:30am. Mommy woke up feeling really engorged but so happy about getting a good night's rest because the night before, he got up every hour. Mommy only managed to get three hour sleep. The next night, Max slept from 12 midnight to 6:30am. Getting a good night sleep is such a treat for mommy and we hope Max keeps it coming!

Also, we were able to weigh Max because a friend had a baby scale. Max weights 5.6KG (about 13 lbs)! Mommy was so happy to see that because Max's birth weight was low compared to other babies same age but he's finally catching up! And the endless hours of breastfeeding is definitely paying off and he has doubled his birth weight! YEAH!!!

Visiting Carmen, Ella and Elyse!

Aunty Carmen is one of the few friends that mommy made in Singapore. Carmen and John have 4 beautiful children, 2 boys and 2 girls. The boys are a little older and the girls are the younger ones. Max inherited alot of their hand-me-down toys and thats why he has so many toys to play with now. They were away to Taiwan for 2 weeks and mommy and Max was very bored when they were gone. Yesterday, we finally paid them a visit and it was fun as always. Ella, the older girl jumped around in circles to entertain Max last time. This time, Max was a little bit more responsive and smiled a lot to mommy and Ella. Elyse is like a little monkey who climbed up and down the tables and was all over the place. She was particular interested in Max's car seat and tried to climb inside to sit. Ella loved taking photos and kept asking mommy to take photos of her and wanting to see them. They are both very cute!

Tomorrow, Max is taking his first trip and going to HK with mommy and daddy! It will be the first time Max flies. Mommy sincerely hopes that he behaves so we don't get dirty looks from the other passenger!

Happy New Year Everyone! Max would like to wish everyone a Happy 2010!

Can you believe it's 2010? Max has been very busy with mommy and daddy during the holidays. We visited more malls! It seems like it's the favorite national hobby here. Killing time at the shopping centers. You get free AC and can do lots of shopping and people watching. We went to Vivocity on New Years Day and had lunch at a Cantonese restaurant. We brought the maid with us who fed Max while mommy and daddy enjoyed their meal. When Max is at the mall, sometimes he would fuss and cries and cries. But soon after, he'll fall asleep - no matter how loud the noises are.

As we moved into a new decade, Max has reached a few milestone of his own. For example, he's been definitely smiling more. He likes to smile in the morning, when waking up in his crib or in bed with mommy. He likes to smile right after his shower when we're changing him and putting all sorts of lotion on him. And he likes to smile at the "WARNING!" sign on the side of his car seat. May be because the car seat is in yellow and black, that's why it catches his attention. Also, Max found his hands, and has been putting his fists in his mouth and sucking it. Mommy is pretty sure that he will find his thumb soon enough and may be won't need the pacifier.
